about
'Not For Piano', composed by Francesco Tristano, was the first album released by InFiné. With its evocative title and tracks, it defined one of the major trajectories of our catalog. It sanctified the piano as the label's primary musical vehicle while expressing our desire to push the instrument into unexplored territories.
Since then, we've encouraged established artists such as pianists Vanessa Wagner and Bruce Brubaker to introduce us to a repertoire of minimalist music, while accompanying a generation of artists like Mischa Blanos, Bachar Mar Khalifé, or Aufgang in bringing the piano into the realms of electronic or alternative music. This same piano has also found its way into the more organic productions in our club catalog.
This past year has been no exception. Bruce Brubaker achieved the feat of reinterpreting Brian Eno's seminal 'Music For Airport' on piano, while Vanessa Wagner graced us with an essential new extension with 'Les Heures Immobiles' and reinterpreted a major work by Rone for the soundtrack of 'D'Argent & de sang'.

What a gorgeous album. I can tell from first listen that I’ll be returning to this regularly, like drawing from a well, for years to come. It’s really something new and different from 12k as well as all the individual artists involved. They come together with such humility and sensitivity of listening to build together these beautiful, involving and rich sound landscapes over the 9 tracks.
