Debut single taken from “Yes is More”
This 7" single is the perfect foretaste for “Yes is More”, and crystallizes the essence of these worlds without being pedantic or trying to give lessons. The tunes, being too busy celebrating the lust for life, won't give too many clues to the self-appointed experts who will have a hard time putting them into any given category. As the beats and melodies unfold themselves under the pressure of the turntable's cartridge, every expectation our so-called "Society Of Cool" is hacked up to pieces, every barrier fades away... but always does so in style. The music gets your foot tapping and your mind going remote places in a snap. You're never asked to choose between one or the other.
Danton sings out loud his desire for liberty and whispers naughty, unspeakable things to your ear at the same time. This paradox finds his origins in his random encounters he makes on his way. His frantic pace pushes him to the boundaries styles, a perfect place to reshuffle freely funk, pop, techno, RnB and what not. His voices bends itself sinfully on the robotic and yet organic riffs of “Give Me Pain”, while it enlightens the dark alleys of his troubled slow dance, "Vivid love".
If American Gigolo had been released in 2009, Vivid Love would have been its soundtrack of choice. The characteristic, warm sound of 7" records giving it all the dimension and warmth it deserves, we decided it would be the only way to enjoy this bespoke edit, as a foretaste of the album to come. All is bright
